It will download after 29th and not before that. By the my HDD space is the same.
Are you sure about that? MS never said it wouldn't download, that it would only be available on the 29th. A lot of games through Steam and GOG pre-download prior to release and "unlock" through a patch the day of release. I suspect MS might follow this same tactic to get Windows 10 on as many machines as possible day of release. I wouldn't at all be surprised if Windows 10 hasn't been downloading to people's systems since 10240 was released.

According to this, they will be downloaded before the 29th http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windo...nMore_win10faq
When you reserve, you can confirm your device is compatible with Windows 10. Between reservation and when your upgrade is ready, the files you need for the upgrade will be downloaded to your PC to make the final installation go more quickly. Then, when your upgrade is ready after July 29, 2015, you get a notification that lets you get started with your upgrade.

Yes - hidden and system attributes. you'll need to change folder options for both to see it.

A few days ago I downloaded a Win 10 64-bit ISO, which I now have on DVD. The size of the file on the DVD is as per the screen capture below

    Windows 10 download-windows-10-iso.jpg

What do I do now? I read that I need to insert the DVD containing the ISO file, and then "mount" the file. I then need to run the "setup.exe" file from the DVD
How to I go about "mounting" the ISO file that I have burned on the DVD-R?

It sounds like you burned the ISO image to a DVD, is that correct? If so boot the current operation system, on the desktop open "My Computer" and browse to the setup.exe on the DVD - then run it.

I thank you for the quick reply to my question. Yes, I downloaded the Win10 ISO file, and burned it to a DVD. I now have the ISO file as per the image I posted in my opening post on the DVD.

But I have read that I need to "mount" the ISO file that is on the DVD, but was not sure what that meant.

If it is just a case of running the setup.exe file from that DVD, then I should be able to manage that. Thanks again.
