    Windows 10 Reserve Questions

I have a lot of concerns about how the Windows 10 reserve will be installed.
I am running Windows 7 64 bit right now and have two physical hard drives. Each hard drive is partitioned into 3 partitions. I have always had problems trying to install an OS with the secondary hard drive attached so I would want notice so I can disconnect the secondary hard drive before installing Win 10

First I assume it will be downloaded through updates ??

How long can I delay the install or can I even just cancel it if I so desire ?

    How it be activated?

Will there be an MSE available for the antivirus for Windows 10 ??

That will get me started and thanks for any info provided

    1. Windows Update

    2. You can cancel it whenever you want.

    3. It will be automatically activated, no key needed.

    4. Windows Defender.

From what I understand "Windows Defender" is antispyware and NOT antivirus. Is that NOT true?

It's an AV tool and not anti spyware.

In Windows 7 this was true. In Windows 10, the MS Security Essentials functionality has been folded into Windows Defender. It is totally an antivirus/malware (scan and realtime) program.

As Sgage already mentioned, starting from Windows 8 it is a full-fledged AV application, evolved from Microsoft Security Essentials. The Defender in Windows 8 and later should not be mixed with Defender in Windows 7 and earlier.

Yes. Since I started to use Windows 8, its early preview versions I have not used any other AV program on my computers. I am totally happy with Windows Defender.

Windows Defender is the only AV I have used on Windows 8 as well.

My understanding is the upgrade will download and when ready to install it will notify. Then it will wait for the user to confirm.
