    Hi there

I think W10 DOES have "Tablet mode". But you can see easily say you have even on a phone 100 apps (people can easily have that many with all the bloatware installed on locked / phone company supplied phones) you need to do a LOT of scrolling just to get anywhere -- it's too much of a pain re-arranging tiles every so often.

On a desktop with a HUGE monitor how much Vertical scrolling do you actually have to do -- the menus are Cascaded which should avoid a large amount of vertical scrolling. (Of course if you install 100's of those "Metro" or Modern apps then perhaps using a desktop isn't the best idea anyway.

    Cheers

    Hi,
No you don't need to do lots of scrolling, just set up you start screens as you want them, obviously if you just place everything there then there is lots of scrolling

just pin everything to the start menu in win10 and how much scrolling do you have to do

there is no difference in Win 8 or 10 in the amount of scrolling you have to do, just set things up

That's a good way to look at it.. and WIn10 has a future and the other OS's don't. It's that simple really. The others will get security updates but that's it.

I am actually not that "pumped" about Windows 10. It really doesn't offer me anything better than I already have with Windows 8.1 Pro. However, since Windows 10 is the OS of the future I will do the upgrade.

Jeff W7 has five years of extended support left, 8 has more than that. That takes 7 up to half way through 10's reported life and 8 will go past half way. It's not like they're dead operating systems.

Having said that I do love W10.

Let me clarify what I said.. W7 or W8.1 will no longer get updates to how it functions and only security updates. Win10 will get feature updates from now on and that's what I meant by no future.
