    do we know who long to expect the free upgrade to windows 10 from windows 8? will it be 29th?

    The upgrades Start on the 29th. Depending on your hardware, where you're from, and a few other factors, it could be days, weeks or even a few months before you receive the OK to install the upgrade.

    Generally it will be Insider program members first, then people who've made a reservation. It's too late to be an Insider, but you can reserve your copy by clicking on the Windows icon in your taskbar on Windows 7 or 8.1.
