Update to Version 1703 from 1607 wants accelerometerDLL.dll

Windows just updated my HP Laptop to Version 1703 from 1607 and just after the update I got a screen shown in the attachment. The update is says, "The code execution cannot proceed because accelerometerdll.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." Is this really needed and what do I do now?

    Thank you.

    Hi, perhaps
AccelerometerSt.exe System Error - Microsoft Community

And this about an HP laptop may be relevant
accelerometer - accelerometerSt.exe isnt compatible with latest windows 10 update - Super User

It seems this is an HP related issue, so you might want to check the HP forum and support.

See if this link is useful:

Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 RC from Official Microsoft Download Center

Alternatively uninstall HP drive guard via the control panel.
    Perform the upgrade.
After the upgrade go the HP web site: (software and drivers)
HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More | HP® Customer Support

Enter your serial number or product number.
They are easily viewed if you you launch the HP support assistant.
    Select the operating system.
Install the windows 10 approved drivers for your configuration.
If you post your product or serial number I can view the web site for you to find the driver/application

I have a HP Pavilion Notebook 17-g121wm and I have the HP 3D DriveGuard Software (HP ProtectSmart Hard Drive Protection) installed in Windows 10 1703 (15063.332) and I have not had any issues with it. Here is the link for my specific software:

    https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers.../model/8961418

Click on Software Solutions near the bottom of the listed Software and Drivers.

You may need to uninstall and reinstall the HP 3D DriveGuard Software.

Check the HP website for you particular model.

JJG10 please post a link similar to tacit99. The HP drive guard has different requirements if you are using RAID. Are you using either hardware or software RAID?

Sorry if this is irrelevant, but I skipped reading the replies above.

    Check out this link:
    Solved: Error on start-up: "AccelerometerSt.exe – System Error - HP Support Forum - 6154155

Try to install that suggested program: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp78001-78500/sp78033.exe

    See if that worked.
