The snag I keep running into is that no other locations are avilable. I've done what you advise but can't get past the only location being the Seagate

So when I click on advanced I get

Then when I click on "find now" I only get the names that are available on the Seagate.

Are you able to connect the drives via USB instead of as a network drive?

Some time ago I explored permissions in Public.

    I allowed full control

But when I applied the changes

    The object remains Seagate
If I could change that I'd be OK, but as per my previous post, its the only object available

I suggested to Seagate that I remove the drive and format it but they said it would destroy the Seagate OS. I can't help feeling that as the OS is US that might be my best option, at least I'd have a 4TB drive to use (even though it cost about £100
