Windows freeze... again (with video of situation)

Hey guys. I'm here with another windows freeze situation.

    Windows freeze - YouTube

    Video sum:
    @ 0:35, geforce experience unpack stops @ 17%
@ 0:50 you can see that new pages on site are not loading anymore
@ 1:15 new internet page is not opening anymore
@ all that follows, computer no longer responds to mouse and keyboard (just mouse movement is active)
    @ 2:01 cat

This started happening about 2 months ago. For some reason it stopped after 3 days. Now it seems to have started again. Crashes happen randomly, mostly when trying to install a software, or playing games.

    What I (think I) know:
    - It's not a hardware problems. All data checks, chips are not overheating
    - Scanned the computer multiple times with multiple software and antiviruses.
    - I believe it's a windows update issue since I remember an update happening when this snowballed 2 months ago
    - Freezing seems to happen less often after uninstalling geforce experience from the geforce driver package.
    - As you'll see in the video, if I attempt to install the latest geforce experience driver, windows crashes
    - As in the video, this is how it happens. One page stops working, then another, then all apps. Mouse movement still works though but I can't excess anything by clicks or keyboard
    - I tried using the PC without the internet cable plugged for about an hour and now crushes happened
    - I already added a page file on my ssd (virtual memory) of 8 gb
    - C-state is disabled in BIOS since I understand that this comes in conflict with my ssd drive
    - I read somewhere that I should make 2 links, one for Microsoft in my network setting. Something about Broadcom. Unfortunately the explanation was not broad enough and I did not want to risk ruining my network setup and making this situation even more complicated

Any thoughts on all the above?

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste the following commands:

    1) winver (in the pop up view the windows version and build and post into the forum)

    2) sfc /scannow

    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    4) chkdsk /scan

What is the make and model of your computer?

    Are you doing any overclocking?

Uninstall everything NVIDIA using display driver uninstaller:

Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 17.0.6.5

Install new drivers from your computer manufacturers web site for your configuration and operating system.

If you have a custom build computer then download drivers directly from the NVIDIA website.
Make sure the clean install box is checked.
Only install the graphics driver and the physx driver.

If the above fixes the hang/freeze then we have completed the troubleshooting.

If the above fails then place your computer in clean boot:

    Check performance after clean boot.

    Let us know the results.

    Hey Zbook,
Thanks for the lengthy detailed response.

Here's a recap of what I've found and done:

    - winver gave me the following result http://imgur.com/a/XXa5h
    - sfc /scannow gave me the following result http://imgur.com/a/flbPZ
    - dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth crashed windows at 80% and on a second try gave me the following result http://imgur.com/a/aMgdJ
    - chkdsk /scan gave me the following result http://imgur.com/a/uxiIj
    - desktop is custom build and I don't do any overclocking. Build: http://imgur.com/a/EUxHf and Capture 8 - Album on Imgur
    - I uninstalled the graphic driver Display Driver Uninstaller
    - I tried downloading the new graphic driver from Nvidia site but at halfway windows crashed
    - HERE'S WHERE IT GET'S INTERESTING: computer restarts at this point. It goes only to BIOS. Figure it can't find the OS... or the hard drive. Opened my case, checked the power cable on my SSD. It looked good. Checked the data cable on my SSD. It does not seem to connect well. I think THIS was causing the crash.... It might have unplugged a bit last time I cleaned the dust inside. Forced it to stay in place.
    - Computer restarted. Windows worked. Tried to install fresh graphic driver with only the 2 software you mentioned (graphics driver and the physx driver). Installation failed... http://imgur.com/a/QWqxu
    - Deleted the whole nvidia folder from my drive and tried again. It worked http://imgur.com/a/nMdjT

Since writing this, 20 minutes have passes without any crash. Hard drive cable might have been it but I'll be back in case crashing returns and I'll try the "clean boot"

    Thanks again for the info!

    You are welcome. Anytime.

One of the images displays windows 10 version 1607 build 14393.1198 and another image displays windows 8.1 professional. How did that happen?

Whenever installing the Nvidia drivers, only install the graphics driver; you don't need to install any other stuff from the installer. I always stick to the bare minimum requirements, in order to avoid clutter and useless files sitting on the computer (UNLESS you use the PhysX System Software... yet most likely I don't think you do).

Go to Programs and Features to do that. Notice that I only have the Graphics Driver in there. (Don't uninstall that one; that's the one to keep installed, you already know that)
