Its down to personel taste you can try another setting and it gives you a min to decided if you want to keep it. Its down to your eye sight and monitor

For your Desktop icons, you can make the icons bigger:
Go to your Desktop, press and hold Ctrl, and scroll up with your mouse to make the icons bigger. Can you take a screen shot of your small font and I'll be able to give you recommendations for the size of your fonts

its asus note book pc Q504U stock with 1tb drive with 850 gb free space, has 12gb ram core I5 cpu.
boot time maybe 10 minutes.
ran sfc scannow and it passed ok.
ran dism restore health, recheck sfc scan now and it passed.
upgraded to win 10...
I was trying to figure out why the Start screen looked odd--and then I noticed the app icons in the tiles are about 1/3 the size they were in Windows 8, so you've got (for example), a tiny W for Word in Windows 10 vs a more visible W in Windows 8.1....
