Screensaver Issues after updating to Windows 10 Creator

I have just updated to Win10 Creator and experiencing some problems with the screen saver.

The screen saver starts after the designated time, and displays my photographs in a random order. All good stuff ... it is performing exactly as it should.

Normally, any key depression or movement of the mouse would disable the screen saver and my desktop/working program would be displayed. Except it doesn't! It just carries on. The only way of stopping the screen saver and getting back to the desktop is to Ctrl, Alt, Delete and then press Cancel.

This is happening on my desktop PC and a laptop.

Any ideas to cure this guys?

Go to Settings/Personalization/Lock Screen/Screen Saver Settings. Click the Settings button. You can also go to the Advance power Settings.

    Thanks for the advice.

That did not work ... is there something else I should be pressing after clicking the Settings button?

I have the same issue on all three of my computers when using the photo option. If you use any of the other options like ribbon etc. the delay isn't there. Makes no sense why this is but until something changes I just use the ribbon screen saver.

hello all, i am not the one who thought of this, i am simply reposting. all credit to the original poster, FALKO

    Hello friends,
Thanks for the support. After following your advice without success, I solved my problem as follows:
Firstly I set the screen saver at "NONE" to avoid the freeze. I discovered after several tests that the photo gallery of Microsoft Essentials caused the problem, why, I could not solve. However, when I change the screensaver from photo gallery to PHOTOS under Personalization, lock screen, screen saver settings, the freeze disappeared. Interesting to note that under Photos all my pictures listed under photo gallery worked as screen saver. I consider my problem as solved.
    Regards, FALKO

Very true .... but Essentials offered a collage of photos and it is this feature that is sadly missed.

Out of interest, does anyone know where the Essentials package resides on a PC? I have searched and cannot find Essentials. or Gallery on my PC.

Was wondering whether if by changing the settings eg. compatibility, it would correct the problem.

Belay that. Found it under Windows Live. Compatibility settings didn't work either .... so still searching for a solution.

Did you already try just using the ribbons or one of the other settings except for photos? When mine is set to photos I get the delay, but any other settings works fine.

Everything works correctly .... it's just that I particularly like the collage feature of 'photo gallery' .... photos is okay-ish [if I cannot get the gallery to work] but nothing else is desired.

Alternatively, if I could find another screensaver that allows photo's to be displayed as a collage I'd use that. But all that I've seen have not come close to the Windows Essentials, Photo Gallery version.

I haven't tried the Windows Essentials. I might give that a try and see if it works for me.
