I tell you what, my dear friend. I quite understand why "TRUMP" does not trust his security advisors if "Microsoft OS" is an example of the "Mushroom Syndrome" currently in practice in the USA.
Beyond any doubt Windows 10 operating system is the most illogical setup ever known to man. Totally illogical !! WHY HIDE CONTROLS FROM THE USERS?
I really do wish that I had stuck with the superb, trouble free Windows 7. Never will be convinced that Microsoft could not have adapted that first class system to it's requirements. Loath this OS!

Nevertheless, have found a way to activate "Hibernate" thus bring up the appropriate controls under "SYSTEM Settings" by using "Command prompt admin".
The settings above under chkdsk were performed with "Fast Disc, Sleep, Hibernate and lock", all turned on.

Now what do you recommend, whilst I still have my sanity?

lol don't lose your mind Mothie! I've already lost mine at so much crap that I deal with... but I apologize I have no solution to why that happens. As a matter of fact to make you feel more normal like other people, that actually started happening to me too.

The whole computer freezes. I can move the mouse around freely, but all windows and the Taskbar respond at such a very slow rate! I keep my sanity by closing/saving all the important things patiently at such a slow rate, and right after the last window closes, I aim immediately to the reset button on the computer, because of how SLOW that whole process took.

Yet if this gets fixed soon, that would be great!

Reset button. Will that reset everything and leave me 2 weeks of putting back all that it takes off?
If so old chap, i'm for Linux or whartever.

lol no, it's the button that restarts the computer immediately. (Same thing as shutting off the power to the computer, and giving power back to the computer)

Only "Reset" button i can find in settings is Restart, which gives the option to put a new windows OS back on. No use to me as I do not wish to spend 2 weeks putting back everything Microsoft has taken off.

If you mean "Restart", I am for ever using that due to Microsofts incomprtrnce to sort this problem/s out. Access via Windows start button under power options.

I'd give it a few weeks to see if hopefully a fix for this gets released.

But it's up to you. Doing the re-installation of a previous operating system is going to be a hassle.
