File Explorer keeps throwing files to the bottom

Hi guys, I have really annoying problem with File Explorer (This PC) on my work computer running Windows 10. I have organized my files starting with numbers 01_bla.docx, 02_bla.xlsx, 03_bla.dwg, 04_bla.pdf... Problem is, when I edit 02_bla.xlsx and save it in Excel (works the same in every other application), file jumps to the bottom in File Explorer, so list goes like this; 01_bla.docx, 03_bla.dwg, 04_bla.pdf, 02_bla.xlsx. So I need to refresh Explorer every time I save a file. I work with large chunk of files, and this slows me down big time. Any ideas?

I'm a Windows 7 person, I too have to often refresh my explorer to get the order back. By commenting, I can "watch" this thread for a solution for you and for me.

Yep, that's been pretty much a normal situation through several versions of Windows Explorer and now File Explorer. There's some good substitutes out there, some paid and some free. A couple that seem pretty good are Total Commander [paid] and Free Commander [duh, free]. If working a lot with files might give something different a try. And it is not only Windows, have seen the same on a couple of versions of Linux I've looked at.

It happens with pdf and dwg files. Xlsx i docx seems like they don't have issues.

    - there you show the xlsx out of order.

So I tried editing a pdf in this list:
File Explorer keeps throwing files to the bottom-snap-2017-05-30-17.30.03.jpg
    - it stayed exactly there after the edited doct was saved.

(And you can see the date has changed to the 30th)

Hm, I was certain that it does with every file, but I traced to only dwg and pdf. It must have something with AutoCad & Adobe Pro
