I disabled Cortana with gpedit, but now I can't type in the search bar
I am using the latest version of Windows 10 PRO - I disabled Cortana in Group Policy Editor, which according to Microsoft, only disables Cortana, not the entire search feature. Unfortunately, on this laptop, if Cortana is disabled, then I can no longer type in the search bar. I can click on the search bar and it highlights it when you click on it, but it will not insert the blinking cursor which allows you to type text into it! I have searched the internet high and low and have followed all instructions to the letter, but though it does get rid of Cortana, it also make my search bar useless! Is this normal, or does anyone know of a way to kill Cortana and still have the ability to use the search bar? Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is driving me insane, as everyone I have spoken to, says that it shouldn't be happening! Please help me out if you know the answer to this problem! Thank you!
