Oh, for interest(?) - I've just remembered one thread where I've seen that message:
‘We'll ask you to download updates, except when updates
are required to keep Windows running smoothly. In that
case, we ll automatically download those updates.

It occurs when you have your connection set as metered, and you're using the Creator's edition.

    - should be nothing to do with the *Some settings...
I have Creators and metered connection. My message is subtly different, it starts with "We'll automatically download updates..." It's the "We'll ask you to..." bit that seems to be connected with the *Some settings... The rest of the message as quoted above is pretty standard for a metered connection and should be nothing to do with *Some settings...

Ok, that suggests some odd mixture of notify and a metered connection with the CU installed.

That (notify) would potentially explain the 'Some settings..' (notify is set) - albeit I'm not convinced of that.

The two groups of updates would be consistent with a metered connection, except then the first should not be offered at all.

For reference, this is how the screenshot from Post #4 appears on a Creators Update 15063.332 system free from any "managed by your organization" registry/group policy tweaks. The wording is the same for Home and Pro, with or without a metered connection (I've checked all permutations).

Thanks (I have the AU only). So that suggests tcebob's is set to notify.

I think the point here is that the message "Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization" is triggered by having some kind of group policy set. If you make a change that sets a group policy setting, then this message appears.

Using a tweaking tool, or a registry setting or just through gpedit to turn off automatic install of updates will trigger this message because this functionality is considered part of group policy.

I have been working on it for two days. I upgraded 40 computers to the Creators Update and all 40 started displaying that warning. I have managed to remove it from two but have no idea how. Thanks Microsoft!

I'm going to mark this as "solved" because the computer in question bit the dust and I'm now on a new HP Pavilliion with Windows 10 Home. So far, no hidden settings -- but the continuous flow of upgrades is irritating. Thanks for all the comments!
