The only way I can unfreeze my system is to press and hold power off key--ctrl-alt-del does not work for me,is there a simple fix for this issue ?

There is a need for more info. Is this a clean install or an upgrade? If it is an upgrade what version was the original? How often does this freezing happen. Also, have you tweaked Windows 10, by using Regedits or 3rd party party software.
When you attempt to use task manager what is happening?
Does it open?
Are the right clicks not working?
Is the menu malfunctioning?
Are your files backed up?
Was there any hardware or software changes prior to the recent problems?
What is your computer make and model?
Place your computer in clean boot to see if there is improvement.

If clean boot does not lead to improvement use safe mode with command prompt or safe mode with networking.
Safe mode in Win 10 - Microsoft Community
In the left lower corner type winver. Then post your windows version and build.
In administrative command prompt run these commands:
1) sfc /scannow
2) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

In case you cannot get to clean boot or safe mode perform the following steps:
Boot your computer and when you see the microsoft icon power off.
Repeat this two or three time to boot to windows troubleshooting options.
In windows troubleshooting options navigate to startup options.
In startup options choose option number 6 safe mode with command prompt.
When in safe mode with command prompt enter the sfc and dism commands above.
Once that is competed type shutdown /r and see if you can boot to wall paper/lock screen or to desk top.
If you cannot boot to anything other than a frozen computer you can then choose these options:
restore to prior date with normally working computer/operating system
reset save files
reset remove files
On another working computer (friend/work etc) create a bootable windows 10 iso:
Download Windows 10
With the bootable windows 10 iso there are additional options including:
in place upgrade
clean installation
My laptop is a HP 15-f233wm and it came with W 10 installed, I deleted adobe flashplayer because it was using a lot of cpu data, I will very slowly make changes ---thanks
How did you uninstall Flashplayer? In Win 10,it is integrated with Edge and can't be uninstalled. Not by conventional methods anyway. If you manually installed it alongside the Edge one, then uninstalled it,that would explain your problem. The updates for Edge Flashplayer always show in Reliabilty History.
The only viable solution is a clean install.
I did uninstall Adobe Flash Player from Control Panel and from that time on I have not had an issues with cpt freezing, I left my computer on and running on CNN.COM website all day and every thing was working fine, My OS is Mozilla Firefox--Thanks to all who helped-
