    No POST at startup

Hi, I am using an ASUS A540la ,with W10.
At start I get no POST, just a blank screen, windows eventually loads and behaves normally, also if I try to access BIOS screen that also is blank and I have to restart to load windows.
Does any one know a solution for this other than factory reset
    Thanx for any help

Power On Self Test test all the hardware quickly to make sure it works and then allows you to boot the computer from a bootable device.
If you are not getting POST then there is more then likely a hardware problem.
Remove all external devices, USB drives, etc. restart and press F2 to load Setup (Bios) if the screen is blank after pressing F2, then press F7 next, this will load Optimized Default Bios settings. Press F10 to Save and Exit the Bios
If this fails then Remove the Laptop Battery, and unplug the power adapter. Then try unplugging the CMOS Battery which will take disassembly, wait a few minutes and plug it back in, or better yet, replace the CMOS battery. .

I know this is an old thread, but I have a NEW no post problem. The rig is a DELL Inspiron 3650 that won't post. I have replaced all of the hardware, mobo, CPU, CPU fan, memory, battery, cables. Everything that I could replace, I have replaced. Yet, it still won't post. I've reset the PSU, the CMOS, and anything else that I could reset. I reinstalled the OS using another rig, yet, still, no post. I am at the end of my wits here.

First, probably should have started your own thread for your issue.

What is the monitor connected to and are you sure the monitor and the video cable are good?

If the monitor is connected to an discrete graphics card and there is a built-in motherboard connection, then you might want to try connecting the monitor to the built-in motherboard connection.

    Sorry.

The monitor is connected to the inboard VGA. I tried a PCIe graphics card, and it didn't post either.
Both monitor, and all related cables, and devices are good. Tested the in another rig.

Typically no post issues on newly assembled computers is that the CPU power connector (either 4 pins or 8 pins) is not connected. Also, did you connect the power button to the proper pins on the motherboard header? Could it be a bad power button?

Thanks, but I have all of the connections made. The way DELL built this crap, you can't leave anything disconnected, and get anything.
The pwr btn is fine. The fans spin..., everything happens EXCEPT posting. I don't get keyboard LED's at all.

I have a similar issue. I get no display and the display finally lights up when windows asks for the login. The machine actually POST's fine it is just the display that does not come on. Any reboot after that without a complete power down displays fine but power down and then no screen again until password. I am picking it is a gfx card thing not playing well with the hardware.
