Why are you trying to do something with GPO? There is no need to go into the registry for the program. GPO was removed from the upgrade of Windows 10 with the Anniversary update. If you have a Windows 7 or 8.1 pro key, you can use that when installing Windows 10 and the GPO will stay enabled. It is only for Enterprise and Volume editions if you upgraded from 7 or 8 to 10 Anniversary or just installed Anniversary.

Hi bro67. I'm was having trouble determining if the GPO being applied was the local GPO or what was being pulled from DC. I could not find where the audit file was being saved, locally or to the DC . I have advanced audit settings that were not being applied even after forcing them.

Windows settings/Security Settings/Local Policies/Security Options/Audit:Force Audit Policy subcategory settings (Windows Vista or later) to override audit policy category settings - enabled

If you are on a Domain, the Policy editor would be in the local OS. If you are pushing GPO's from the Domain, they would be applied. Because of the changes with AE and CU, it is something that you will have to look at the technet info to see all of the changes with Windows and the server OS you are using.

Policy changes for Windows 10. New policies for Windows 10 (Windows 10) | Microsoft Docs What's new in Windows 10 (Windows 10) | Microsoft Docs

Everything with prior windows versions would still be the same, since they are not affected by changes with Windows 10.
