Check to see if Nvidia has any Windows 10 drivers, as AMD does. Those diver packages usually have the highest resolutions for the display.

Latest NVIDIA GeForce Graphics Drivers for Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums is a good place to start to look for the newest drivers
Check device manager and see what's listed under Display Adapters. If it says Standard VGA, that's your issue and you need to install your Video drivers again.
Ok, that's weird, you should be able to get the correct resolution. Have to tried unplugging your monitor's video cable and plugging back in?
Cool! Glad you are sorted :)
What about installing a driver for the display? I had to do that on my Win 7 system when I installed a DVI KVM switch. It was locked into the old 15" display resolutions. Once I installed a driver for my HP w2207 display, the resolutions were as they should be.
Nice one, robert. Just had two successes myself, today, so feeling good too!
