    Desktop background goes black

I have a picture here of my desktop background. Notice how behind the icons is black. Now the entire background just blacked out. I also have problems with menus in apps. Notice how Synctoy isn't displaying the menu correctly. What is going on?Desktop background goes black-capture.jpgDesktop background goes black-capture2.jpg

Try this, run CMD as admin and copy/paste:

    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" /v "ForceActiveDesktopOn" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /freg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" /v "NoActiveDesktop" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f
    reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer" /v "NoActiveDesktopChanges" /t REG_DWORD /d "1" /f
    taskkill /im explorer.exe /f & explorer.exe

Thanks for replying. Trying this caused a weird BSOD saying KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED so I'm in the process of posting in the BSOD section because I think my GPU is bad.
