Ripped a DVD in windows media player --put songs in burn list (right column) put a blank DVD in writer/player-- clicked burn-start burn --windows 10 ejects the disk then states to put in disk and windows will automatically start burning process BUT it ejects the disk constantly--NO BURN. Can someone explain?

Err... doesn't WMP say to insert a blank CD?

It probably has to do with Windows 10 no longer having cd or dvd codecs in Windows Media Player or Movies & TV and Groove Music.

No CD or DVD codecs? Then how can WMP play CDs and DVDs? It does for me.
And for the OP's question, they have ripped files that they are trying to copy to the DVD. Can't they just write those files to the DVD using File Explorer?

Try playing a movie off of a DVD in WMP. The only way it will work is if you were dumbe nough to buy Microsoft's DVD app from the store that sucks or a 3rd party program or codec package that add's the codec. Microsoft stopped adding the codec's in Windows. You need VLC Player, PowerDVD, etc. to be able to do it.

Of course a music cd will work. The cd's have the proper codecs on them and Microsoft also had wma codec in WMP, which is it's own. Nothing for dvd's or blu-ray's, though. You must have 3rd party software on your device or it won't work.

Yes, you are putting in a DVD when Windows Media Player explicitly asks you to 'Insert a blank CD'. Of course it will be ejected - it's the wrong type of disk.

As stated, use a CD-R blank disc and not a DVD disc to burn music. A DVD disc will not play in your set top or car CD player. If the burn fails using an -R disc, throw it away and use a fresh one, as -R discs can only be burned once, whether it is successful or not.
If you continue to have problems with WiMP I suggest using the free CDBurner XP. program. If burning to a DVD you have to choose that in the menu.

You can burn music to a DVD, tons of music!

But, you'll only be able to play it in the CD-ROM or a DVD player, (maybe a specialized CD Player)

But, I don't know how you ripped a DVD in WMP!
