For me, upgrade was smooth... I used the Update Assistant... however, while everything was great, and I was loving the new options (like lettng windows to empty your temp folder from time to time automatically)... I had to revert back, because one of my programs and the most important of all, didn't work properly... seems, as far as I read, that we need manufacturers like AMD or Nvidia to upgrade their VGA drivers to WDM2.2... otherwise you get a lot of issues.

In my case, Clip Studio seems to not work in this upgrade, lags horribly, specially with zoom operations... weird enough, Photoshop runs smooth... but, since the first is my main program, I had to revert back to 1511 after trying even the latest whql drivers from AMD (I avoid betas...)

But, honestly, I got to say that the experience about upgrading and reverting back was completely clean and smooth, Microsoft is doing a good job keeping this processes straight and stable, as I said, I even returned to 1511 after the upgrade, and all my stuff is back to normal, not even a single file loss... nothing.

Yes I have upgraded 2 workstations and one notebook, with few issues. The ones that I had were my fault for not paying attention. By far the least issues I have had with a major upgrade in a while.

And "ridiculous" can be quantified by 2-3 times longer each system takes to fully boot and become usable. As in COMPLETELY noticeable and not needing an actual time hack to measure the difference.
Frankly, I'm not sure I could notice only a 2 or 3x slowdown on my system. It boots to start screen in 3-5 seconds. It would probably have to be 10x or more for me to really notice.

I'm now seeing even more problems - there is a post here about chkdsk not working Chkdsk not working?

Why didn't MS software engineering process discover and fix such a basic error?
Obviously the problem is not with chkdsk because most people have no problem with it. More than likely, it's a problem with the upgrade itself, or a corrupted system before the upgrade (sometimes hidden malware causes upgrade problems).

I posted earlier in this thread re: Chrome after applying the CU...

After rolling back to the previous version of W10, all appeared to be OK and re-assured by the experiences of others reported here, I ran the Upgrade Assistant again and Chrome appeared to be stable.

Chrome is OK (for me at least) when just being used for browsing, however the lock-ups seem to occur when either creating or editing a bookmark. This isn't a big deal and I'm sure that Google will fix this with the next version of Chrome.

And, what about the DISM error? No DISM errors at all? Difficult to believe!!!
    Please, check
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and let us know what happen.

Some of my upgraded systems have DISM errors, some don't. All of the ones that do have such errors in my case are those with Nvidia graphics cards and the latest Nvidia driver. I've read about other causes for this problem, but mine are definitely driver related and affect only 2 out of 8 systems.
    Just another data point...

So, in your opinion the problem has to be solved by NVidia and not by MSFT? Have In mind that everything with NVidia was OK before the W10 Creators Update.

Do many people use iTunes? I am waiting for Windows update to offer creators update, so far it's not come through. But I thought I'd seen somewhere that creators update and iTunes do not play nicely together at the moment. Does anyone have any feedback in that respect? As our mobile/tablets of choice are iPhone and iPad and we lean heavily on iTunes to manage everything it's important to our family that it's useable on Windows 10.

    cheers, Wayne

I have not had iTunes work for me since 8.1. The important use for me with iTunes is to sync my Outlook calendars and contacts. Doesn't work reliably -- again since 8.1.
