I laughed out loud at your reply. "Well, that's what TC looks like, but I can't speak for simrick. I'm sure she has her hair yet." I had Assumed that they were both guys. sorry simrick...
Most of us have made that mistake, Eileen. When she first arrived on the scene, a group of us were going to have an online meeting to learn something or other and she had expressed an interest. I asked the "leader" if we should include Simrick, that he had expressed an interest. Fast forward to the meeting and Simrick attended. She laughed and I said something like, "She's a girl!!!" And the rest is history, as they say . . .

As you well know by now, Simrick is one of our better gurus and has helped many, many, TF members, including myself.

Yes, simrick is all woman. Good character, mother, software guru, and from what I can tell very rich.

She owns an airline: Simrik Airlines: Flights to Kathmandu, Pokhara, Simara Bhairahawa

And a famous restaurant: SIMRICK INC Youngstown OH, 44514 - Cortera Company Profile

If that's the same simrick of course.
Oh boy, the gig is up, the word is out, I've lost my incognito status.

sure I would appreciate someone sharing my personal info....

I am just not sure if I should mark this issue solved. I am so much closer to dumping AOL .

    I still have questions though.

Could someone please send me a link or explain to me how to get rid of Aol???? I want to start with AIM.

If I have Chrome questions , should I ask my questions here or start a new thread?

    Hi Eileen.
Do you have Ccleaner (Free) on the system?
CCleaner - Free Download or try CCleaner Professional - Piriform

That's a really easy way to uninstall programs.

Many Chrome Browser questions, (and Google Gmail questions), can be answered with a quick Google search. You might try that first, then come back here if you're not satisfied with the search results.

Pretty much everyone knows Simrick is a gal, Eileen. And believe me, no personal has been shared. Also, most of what Hippsie Gypsie said doesn't apply to Simrick. :) We all belong to that TenForums "Last One to Post Wins" thread I've been yapping about.

I see Simrick beat me to the punch again. :) However, I'm kind of giving you the legal mish mash, while Simrick is giving you the nitty gritty.

First off, do you have a paid account with AOL? If you do, your "terms and conditions" should spell out how to contact them and unsubscribe /terminate their services. Further, one of the first things I would do is notify my bank/credit card company/pay pal that I have terminated my association with AOL and that they no longer have any authority to reach out and touch any of my payment methods. Or, if you're sending automatic payments to AOL, stop those immediately. (That is, if you have set up any type of automatic payment to AOL.)

Remember that companies like AOL make it hard to terminate them. . . once you've notified them, find an address for them and send a certified letter outlining that you no longer need their services and you are terminating any agreement they may think they're entitled to. [On the bottom of the letter, cc: an attorney. If you have one, good; if not, find a name in the phone book and paste it in there. :) ]

Once you are sure that AOL has gotten the message, uninstall any and everything AOL from your computer, following Simrick's instructions.

When you have questions, you should go to the area you're likely to get the most information from. In the case of Chrome, which is a Browser, or Gmail, which is your email client, you'd post your question in the Browsers and Email section of TenForums: Browsers and Email - Windows 10 Forums section

Conversely, if you should have a question about something else, go to TenForums.com and look for a group that's closest to what you need to know. If it needs moving, an Admin will move it and let you know where it went.

Good point about terminating any contracts/payment methods with AOL Wynona. I forgot that it used to be a "pay" service (although I think their email is free now).

Yeah, I wasn't sure, but just in case, Eileen should cover all her bases.

It's still pay unless you want a ton of ads. I pay $4.99 a month. What a waste of money.

Since this is still open I have to mention what happened when my CONTACTS were transferred from AoHELL!!! I am SO angry. I have never used my phone for AOHELL contacts. Most are Internet Friends that I only PM or email. After my contacts were finally on Chrome I happened to use my phone and all of a sudden all 100+ were now on my Smart PHONE!!! All kinds of duplicates! Most were AIM which I have NEVER used(why?) I was able to delete half but the the other half were not deleted just hidden. Now I am getting a message that my Cloud is 88% full. Another thing I don't ever use and have no idea how to get to it to delete whatever was transferred from Aol to there.
Any chance anyone has any ideas to help me yet again????? *sigh*

Great idea to shut off my credit card too.....
