In my humble opinion, the Search function box "Type Here To Search" is really poor.
Might someone suggest a "really" good, hopefully free or inexpensive, one I can
download and try.
Would like it to pull out file names, etc., etc. Really dig "deep".
The one(s) I have on my Mac are great.
Would sure like to find a good one for my W10 pc.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Hi, first note that search in 1909 is 'broken' following MS's change from 1903. MS is said to be working on it.
Second, this question has been addressed in various forms, many times.
A basic consideration is whether you want indexed content search or not.
Is there a better file-search utility than the one in Win Explorer ?

Indexing file/folder names, not content - find-as-you-type: e.g.
Everything (voidtools), Ultrasearch, Locate32

Finally note that Windows search (working in 1903) when you have indexing configured appropriate to your needs supports complex syntax permitting precise resolution- but requires familiarity. E.g.
type:mp3 datemodified:12/1/19 .. 20/6/19 artist:enya
and correct syntax is highlighted in blue.

I use NirSoft's SearchMyFiles and I think it is very useful [even when Windows search is working].
