So I can run the Windows Configuration Designer and undo what was done to my Education ISO? Assuming the 'SetEduPolicies' is what's doing it in the first place?

I don't know, to be honest. It's possible that it's 'baked in' to the Education version and not configurable? I don't have an Education version to play with.

Ok, I'll likely try it at some point. Other projects on the go so it might be a while before I get to it.

    Hi Alphanumeric

For what it's worth, I had various areas in red writing with the same message and greyed out areas in 'Settings' like you until a couple of days ago when I went into 'Settings' > 'Accounts' > 'Sign-in Options and signed in to my Microsoft Account and now all of the red writing messages and greyed out areas have disappeared and everything is accessible.

Signing in with a Microsoft Account doesn't solve the issue with the version of Windows Alpha is running. He's running a copy of Windows 10 Education. See here - *Some settings are hidden or managed by your company - Page 6 - Windows 10 Forums

And you might want to edit your image since it shows your email address.

My apologies Sygnus21, I should have read more of the thread and thank you for your advice on my email address. Shawn from Admin kindly fixed it for me. :)

Yeah, they're Johnny on the spot for stuff like that :)

Anyway just wanted to point out to you and others the "fix" isn't as simple as it looks. This is why going through a thread is always a good idea before posting. And no worries we all jump into stuff "before" reading. I too have been guilty of that

I logged in as local account during setup, then switched to Microsoft Account, and verified my ID, no difference. I even logged in during setup with an Office 365 account, same deal. I can then switch to Pro via a change product code and all the red banners etc disappear. Everything is fine. Switch back to Education and its all locked out again.

I did a clean install of 10 Home from a MCT created thumb drive. 1709 Fall Update. I did the I don't have a key and it activated with its DL it already had. Then did the change Product key and entered the 3V66T generic Pro key. It upgraded rebooted etc, and then activated with its DL it already had. I did another change product key and entered an Education key . Instead of prompting to update, it just said "Activate Windows"? I clicked OK and it activated. Then the Windows 10 Pro changed to Windows 10 Education on the activation screen, and it shows as activated with a DL linked to Microsoft Account. No reboot no nothing. Just a quick name change. I know it did switch to Education though. My "Some settings are managed by your organization" message is back. This has to be by Design, by Microsoft, for what ever reason?

    Hi alpha,

You've been fighting this issue a long time. Perhaps it is by design and you just may have to accept it as that.

    Good luck.
