Just did a clean install of 10 Education with the latest MSDN ISO and have the red *Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization* messages in Settings in Windows 10 Education?

The above message is displayed in Settings > Notifications & actions, and Get tips tricks etc is greyed out. Along with Show me the Windows welcome experience.

Same message in Settings > Personalization > Lock screen. And Get fun facts is greyed out.

No such message on the Activation screen in Settings though.

Logged in with my Microsoft account and activated with a Digital license.

I was hoping this latest release would fix it. Must be by design?

Many of these reports came from users of Windows 10 Home which doesn't have the group policy editor...
    - for those you'd need the equivalent registry change for any fix reported using gpedit.msc.
You can download a Group Policy Settings Reference spreadsheet that lists them all here...

I installed the latest CU build via Windows Update last week for Windows 10 Education. It replaced the AU update I was running. I'm getting the same error about settings being managed by my organization.

After trying multiple suggestions for fixes to this problem found online in several forums, I used the "Get Help" option available from the Start Menu in Windows 10 Education. I chatted with a Microsoft Support person who did a remote control of my computer. He determined that such features were indeed by design in Windows 10 Education and advised that if I didn't want them greyed out, I needed to change to Home or Pro.

I must say I am very disappointed in Microsoft over this. I started back in 2015 by using the free update to upgrade my Windows 7 Home system to Windows 10 Pro. Then, my college offered a free upgrade to Windows 10 Education. At the time the documentation for Education said that it contained all the features for Home and Pro plus nearly all of the Enterprise features. So, I decided to download and install the Education version. Had I known that Education was going to become a "feature-limited" version, I would have probably stayed with Home or possibly upgraded to Pro. This is ridiculous.

This getting rather comical now, except it isn't very funny. Did yet another clean install. This time I logged in with my office365 credentials. That all went fine until I tried to set up a PIN. Once I click Set A PIN I get a "your administrator has required that you setup this account for additional security verification". I click set it up now and I get options for text message, phone call, App. I select phone call and it fails. I don't own a smart phone. My no e-mail option? I tried several times. It's the same phone number I used to originally setup my office 365 subscription and worked with the prove your not a robot. What gives? Why all the hoops to jump through? Went to Settings > user account > no verify your ID option? And, all the same items mentioned originally in the OP are still locked out. Somebody please put me out of my misery. =(

alpha I've no idea why you're getting what you're getting but I've no such issues. That said, given the amount of installs you did, all resulting in the same issue, I wonder if it's BIOS related? Yeah, I know it shouldn't, but...

Anyway on all 3 of my machines, 2 desktops, and a laptop all running Windows 10 Pro, X64, none display the issue you post. Both desktops were clean installs, the laptop came direct from Lenovo with 10 preinstalled and all I had to was setup it up.

That said, can you post a screen showing where you're at since I'm having a hard time following you. Example... Went to Settings > user account > Don't see that track.

Also, I'm running the non-insiders editions.

    Thanks.

Windows 10 Home and Pro are fine, no such issues. It's only Education version that does it for me. Even Enterprise on the same hardware is fine. I'm not on that PC at the moment. Will post some screen shots in a bit.

I am going to very strongly disagree with that. If you looked at my post I am having the exact same issues with Professional. V1703 fresh install to boot.

Sorry what I meant was Home and Pro "are fine for me". I don't have this issue with those versions. For me its only the Education version that locks me out of some settings.
