Fix for Windows 10 Home (version 1703, build 15063.413) lock screen message- "some settings are hidden or managed by your organization" - and greyed out options.
1. Command prompt
2. Regedit
3. SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization
4. Set NoChangingLockScreen to 0
(This is in HKeyLocalMachine.)
I do not have a NoChangingLockScreen key at all but if I did I'd have tried this...
I found somewhere the suggestion to delete the key "NoLockScreen" in this location in the registry and that worked for me. This little gift from Microsoft seems to have come with the new build I got a couple of weeks ago.
I haven't read through this entire thread so I may be off base here but I wanted to post an observation I had regarding the "Some settings are hidden or managed by your company" notification.
I've never seen this issue before until I went ahead and told Windows not to download drives using the Local Group Policy editor. Upon doing that, and along with the next Windows Update, I got the some things are managed notification.
As an experiment, I went ahead and reset Group Policy to allow driver installs and once again, upon telling Windows Update to look for updates, the notification went away.
Point? If you've adjusted Group Policy settings, or perhaps tinkered with registry settings dealing with Group Policy settings you may get this notification. For me, this is a repeatable action where I can invoke the notification trough Group Policy altering's.
Currently I've got no such notifications on any of my 3 Windows machines, all running Windows 10 Pro x64, because I've not blocked driver updates on 2 of them, and the one I did (main rig), I reversed for this experiment.
Just FYI.
- for those you'd need the equivalent registry change for any fix reported using gpedit.msc.Many of these reports came from users of Windows 10 Home which doesn't have the group policy editor...
