I've read of one temp fix for the windows defender exclamation icon issue with the brightness warning on a plugged in laptop. What you do is you set your brightness to 99 instead of a full100 and restart and you should not get the warning again. On my second day of it and so far no warning.

    Nice workaround/hack.

Thanks.. Seems to have worked.. Even though it was only set to 78.. I moved it up to 100, then down to 99, restarted & went back to 78. No more warning.

Yeah I've noticed a restart will get rid of it temporarily no matter how you have it set. I guess until it does a health scan again - whenever it decides to do it.

Remains to be seen if it stays like this set less than 100 w/restart. So far I have almost two days which is approaching my record.

As regards desktop icons moving around, try the setting in Settings / Themes, under 'Related Settings', 'Desktop Icon Settings'.
There's a check box at the bottom of the window called 'Allow themes to change desktop icons'...

Don't want to start another thread, so I'll join the discussion here. I'm not sure if it's a bug or it is supposed to be like that, but double click on Windows Defender icon in system tray doesn't actually do anything, at least for me. In order to get to Windows Defender I have to right mouse click on the icon and choose "open". Kind of annoying and doesn't feel right.
happens to me on diff programmes on desktop, unknown cause, and is not frequent. I cant open my email sometimes.

Mine is set to 25% yet get the 'brightness is 100%'warning, I tried this fix & the error comes back. I checked under settings & found that brightness when on battery was set to 100%, I changed that to 20%, not had the problem since but I only changed it a couple of days ago so am still keeping an eye on it.

    Hi Chaps

Anyone else noticed a second recovery partition in Disk Management after upgrading to the CU. Sure there was only one previously.

For those with desktop icon issues, has anyone looked at the arrange icon feature when right clicking the desktop and choosing "View"?

May solve the desktop icon issues some are reporting

BTW, you can even hide all the desktop icons if you want by unticking the "Show desktop icons".

    Just FYI :)

For UEFI there was always two shown (450, 100 meg), though there are actually 3, but the 16 meg partition doen't show in Disk Management. See my post here showing the UEFI partitions.

That said, where that 785 meg partition came from is a mystery to me since nothing changed when I updated all 3 of my machines. In short, I don't have that partition on any of my machines after the CU update.

    How'd you install the update?
