I did a clean install of CrU & found Windows Live Mail 2012 no longer installs - Goodbye old friend.
Also couldn't install my HP 2400 scanner as it's no longer compatible. :s
    Hi there

    @Bastet

Try vuescan - almost every scanner in the known universe will still work with this

VueScan Scanner Software for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux

OK it's not free but why junk a perfectly good scanner and you can TRY before buying --costs around 30 USD / 25 GBP / EUR.

I'm still using a canoscan for "digitising" Black and white film negatives -- Vuescan worked a treat (I'm now using an XP VM as I needed the old Canon software for optimising the scans and creating the Black and white prints) etc but certainly VUESCAN did the initial trick -- for older scanner unless you want to use a VM then 100% recommendable. Note with negatives the black and white are reversed which is why I needed the canon software but for your normal scans great piece of software.

For email there's BOUND to be a fix very quickly as an email client is usually MUST HAVE software.

    Cheers

After Creators Update (went well on four different Dell machines) Edge browser no longer automatically enters username and password at sites previously saved, although the usernames and passwords are still visible under Manage Passwords in Advanced Settings. Can automatic entry be re-enabled without re-entering username and password at each site?
    Thanks.

**answered my own question.....had been logged in as a local account, but after logging in as an MS account usernames and passwords worked again. went back to local account, but the fix stuck.

That is typical for any upgrade. Most of that would be the windows.old folder containing your old OS, should you wish to roll back.

    Hi there
If you backup your previous version of Windows BEFORE upgrade - then never a problem if you want to go back so no reason to keep windows.old

CU install media no longer looks for Windows 8 OEM embedded keys. Did a clean install on my laptop and got prompted to enter a key. it has a Windows 8.0 Core OEM Embedded key.

It looks like there is a glitch with the Education version. I have a few of the Settings pages with a red "Some settings are hidden and managed by your organization" banner and some settings are greyed out.

Thanks, but I already had my own copy, downloaded before the links were pulled. I too can confirm Movie Maker 2012 still works in Creators Update - I already had it installed before the upgrade and it still works just as it did before.

HOWEVER, I can also confirm that trying to run the Offline Installer wlsetup-all.exe on a 15063.13 system that has never had it installed before reports that the install fails...

    Attachment 128860

...which is odd, to say the least as according to Apps & features, the Start menu and file associations it has installed successfully. Apparently fully functional too...

    Attachment 128861

The Uninstall is fully functional too, should you wish to remove it. :)
Same error for me but the mail app fails to open with an error about calendar corruption.
I also downloaded the offline installer before it was removed.

Thanks @jimbo, I used the chance to look for a new scanner with better features like being able to scan slides, I've found one but am looking into whether it is win 10 compatible, in the meantime I have a scanner app on my phone which does the same as the old scanner. :)
The scanner driver was no problem but the scanning software installed with errors.

I am tempted to buy the $80 version lifetime use, but as I am nearly 68, nobody knows how long that can be!!! I realise I can use it on up to 4 machines (eg: my pc, laptop, daughters laptop), very tempting but 60/40 to get it

After updating 10x PCs i've noticed the following oddities:-

    1. PC1 (my main machine) Win 10 Mail app now works & it hasn't done this for ages!
    2. 1x Dell SFF PC & 1x Dell Laptop have grey logon screen & shutdown backgrounds. These still show the white circular dots thing though! All other PCs have the original blue background.
    3. All machines had 'Power Options' (shortcuts) Pinned to the right side of the start menu along with shortcuts to internal HHDs. When upgrading PC1, which i did first, these also appeared in the Programs list on the left!
    4. On all PCs i no longer have the Windows printer app for my Brother MFC-J6520, but i still have it for a much older MFC-235C.
    5. One Dell notebook's Track pad driver had to be removed & reinstalled due to lagging issues. Another identical machine did not have this issue.

PC1 was the only machine to be upgraded to the CrU via the Win 10 Upgrade Assistant. All others were done with a USB stick created with the Media Creation tool. This was a lengthy process as all had to be downgraded from Enterprise to Pro version first & then put back on Enterprise.

I don't pretend to know the answer to any of these, but it has been interesting.....
