I agree about waiting a bit. Will WU still give me 1607 updates without the Creators update?
Yes. Even the original release from July 2015 is still getting updates, it's up to Build 10240.17320 as of KB4016637, the cumulative update for 22 March. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...date-kb4016637

Support for 10240 is ending, now that 1607 is on the Current Branch for Business (CBB). Microsoft actively support two CBB versions, currently that's 1607 and 1511. Support for 1511 will end some 60 days after 1703 becomes CBB.

    Well, there's an answer.

Well, WU is also giving me Office 2016 updates so will that stop as well?

I generally haven't experienced any problems with Windows 10 upgrades. Everything I have done has been fine.

My Creators Update right now is installed clean on a VM. But once it becomes available via WU, I'll put it on my desktop and my son's desktop . I don't expect to have problems. It's really not that different. Mostly just options that I can either turn on or turn off.

Bree mine says 1607 Build 14393.969 when I go to winver in command prompt. I get all the updates to my 64 bit Pro. I am not sure how you get your version or is that not for Pro?

Yes, 1607 build 14393.969 is the latest update that the automatic Window Update will deliver for the Anniversary update (whether it's Home or Pro). For the Fall update, version 1511 the same security/bug patches are in its equivalent cumulative update and take it to build 10586.839. For now, the original version released in July 2015 (sometimes known as 1507) is still getting updates. It's latest build is 10240.17319. All three versions have had cumulative updates issued this March.

There are currently four versions now that 1703 has been released, each getting the latest fixes in its own cumulative updates. Though support for the original will end shortly, bringing the number MS support back down to three. The full update history is here...

I have a separate post, but I'll post it here too in case someone comes across this. I installed the Creators upgrade and it "broke" a paid version of Macrium Reflect V6. I can't run Macrium Reflect as it says my license key has already been used. However, the Macrium procedure to deactivate a license key on a PC is a procedure within the Reflect program, which can't be run. I have a support request into Macrium about this. I haven't run across any other problems, yet. My recording studio program (Sonar Platinum) runs without problems.

This is the message I get when I try to run Reflect V6

Great. I guess I will be able to wait a bit for any extra Creator updates and also, by waiting I should be able to just use WU without the servers being hammered.

You have Pro, so you should be able to use 'Defer feature updates' in your Updates, Advanced Settings.
