For those with desktop icon issues, has anyone looked at the arrange icon feature when right clicking the desktop and choosing "View"?

May solve the desktop icon issues some are reporting

BTW, you can even hide all the desktop icons if you want by unticking the "Show desktop icons".

    Just FYI :)
nope. I have these auto ticked when I started on pc and have never changed. my laptop is the same, but it will not put an icon in bottom left, it keeps moving it in one space to the right.

For UEFI there was always two shown (450, 100 meg), though there are actually 3, but the 16 meg partition doen't show in Disk Management. See my post here showing the UEFI partitions.

That said, where that 785 meg partition came from is a mystery to me since nothing changed when I updated all 3 of my machines. In short, I don't have that partition on any of my machines after the CU update.

    How'd you install the update?
You are right there was a 450 and a 100 initially. Why its now 450 and 99 I have no idea and where the 785meg one came from I know not. I upgraded using the upgrade assistant.

Un-tick "Auto arrange icons", tick "align icons to grid" and see what happens No issues moving them where I want :)

Hmmm... that's the way I did my backup machine. My laptop was a clean install, and my desktop was through Windows update. In all 3 instances, no partitions were added.

Anyway it looks like you might be able to delete that partition. I'd create a Windows backup image just in case though. But, yeah, it looks like a safely deletable (my word) partition. Or you can simply leave it if you're unsure and not hard up for the 750meg space.

    Good luck.

I've made a backup anyway and although Im not desperate for the space I would prefer it not to be there. Whats the best way to delete it and merge with "c". Right click in disk management gives no options but help. Diskpart?

    Thanks Danny

I don't use Diskpart so I can't say there. I use Paragon's Hard Disk Manager for my disk needs so I'd just delete it and add the space to C drive. And yeah, you don't get a lot of options with Disk Management.

Anyway I'm sure it's simple with Diskpart but I don't use it so someone else would have to chime in on that.

Oh, and before you delete it, make sure there's no (hidden) files there, especially OS files. If so, you might reconsider deleting it.

    Good luck.

Good advise to check first as it appears that now contains the recovery environment rather than the 450 partition

Well, in that case I'd just leave well enough alone; though the 785 meg partition looks like a duplicate.

Unticking show desktop icons is one of my check list items on a clean install. I like a nice clean desktop. The stuff I use every day is pined to my taskbar. Other frequently used Programs/Apps are pinned to my start screen. I run triple displays.

    Hi Chaps

Anyone else noticed a second recovery partition in Disk Management after upgrading to the CU. Sure there was only one previously.

I do believe I noticed that when doing a clean install after having upgraded. I did a custom install and noticed an extra partition while deleting them. They don't show up in disk management. Diskpart doesn't show them either.
