    Boot temporary freeze and delay

    Hi

Coming from the other problem with the font preview problem (now solved Can't preview any font in Windows 10 recent install) I have a new problem (caused by the fix used).

It is a new 'problem' that I did not have before: when booting windows (from restart for example), while in the spinning wheel screen (with the blue windows logo), the spinning wheel freezes for 14 seconds or so, then moves then freezes again 2 or so seconds, spins and then launches the lock/login screen.

This is strange as it was ok before this last windows installation. It could be not so important except that it seems that something is lagging or delaying windows boot, and that produces, not only a booting time almost double than before, but also a series of errors and warnings in the event viewer about programs and drivers that could not be loaded at time (specially hard disk, or card readers). And this I think is the cause for some lagging behaviour when entering in desktop for first time after boot.

I would need/like to 'remove' the thing that makes the wheel to freeze, so having a normal boot smooth and without interruptions.

For reference, the event errors are 10010 Distributed COM (several instances), Kernel-PNP 219 for 3 SATA drivers, and a USB card-reader, and events 201 and 202 (these are less important), sometimes event 7000 and 7009 (for 57xx SteelVine). Still the other ones did not exist before the last in-place installation of Win10 I did to fix the font problem.

I would thank if you could help me to try to solve this. Tx!

BTW, to fix this and other 'problem' related to this (lagging dragged windows, and general slow feeling of OS) finally I reinstalled whole OS...Then when I added drivers I identified the cause of the freeze during boot/spinning wheel: if Marvel 61xx drivers are installed then the freeze appears, remove them, and freeze is gone. I guess these drivers are no more needed in windows 10, but I had to test them just because of some RAID feature of the mobo (which now, I realize do not need neither the 61xx drivers).

I wanted to comment, just in case someone has the same problem. As I detected it early in the configuration process, I reinstalled OS from scracth a second time, just to start clean.

Funny you mention that, due to me updating to the latest NVIDIA drivers on my GTX 750 Ti. As the wheel spins, it freezes for approximately 7 seconds, then does the double boot logo like on Windows 10 1511. It seems like there are tons of driver issues with the new update, causing system instability, as well as boot instability.

I had to do a clean install after doing the direct upgrade from 1607 to 1703, as it bricked my system.
