Wiped hard drive partitions keep coming back on Win10 Recovery disc

    Hi All,

My scenario is complicated. But if someone can suggest something, I owe you the return favor.

I have a micromax canvas laptab LT666W that runs Win 10.

I started getting boot error where in it does not boot

First, I tried with recovery disc which did not work.

Then I downloaded the Win 10 recovery disc from this forum. I was able to load the virtual OS on a flash drive without any issues.

Through file explorer, I was able to access all the 28 GB of data on my Tab's hard drive.

But when I attempt a format, it is not allowing me to do.

When I attempt to wipe drive and create new partition while installing a fresh copy of Win10 it fails.

When I use partition magic using virtual drive, wipe is showing as successful but all the contents come back as if by magic.

I am stuck with this for months. Somebody please help. !!

You have to use Diskpart to /clean the drive through Rescue Media.

Or when doing a clean installation of windows 10 > when you get to the partitions screen > delete every partition
and allow windows to install to the unallocated disk space

doing a clean installation of windows 10 > when you get to the partitions screen > delete every partition
and allow windows to install to the Unallocated disk space
As stated, Boot off of your Windows installer media, choose your Language, Choose Install. In Drive Options Highlight each partition and Delete them so the whole drive is Unallocated Space. Click Next and Windows will automatically create partitions and Format them during the install.

Yes the recovery is a image of the drive and will continue to reinstall the partitions until you update the image of the drive.

Also a Virtual drive is just that. It will behave like a regular drive and contain the virtual partitions that were created when you installed an OS into the VM.

Thanks all for taking the time to review my case.

I guess my description was misleading.

I meant I am unable to wipe hard drive`s partitions. Not the virtual drive ones.

Step 1 - Boot error on normal startup saying a recent hardware or software change could be the cause

Step 2 - Repair disc. Attempts to do startup repair but fails saying it could not do so.

Step 3 - New OS installation. On partition delete, I attempted to delete existing partitions. Fails with message we couuldn`t format the drive.

Step 4 - Launched command prompt repair and attempted clean. Though t says clean is successful, contents are still undeleted.

Step 5 - Used partition manager within recovery cd, to format the hard drive of my tab. (32gb). Format says successful but the contents on hard drive came back.

Step 6 - tried to convert partitions to MBR. No luck. Same issue.

I am able to read my hard drive contents through to command prompt. So I am presuming no hard drive crash.

Also virtual ccd works fine. So no processor issue I guess.

I am damned for now unable to figure ouit what is the issue.

yes Spunk. I did the same with no luck.

I am not even able to delete the partition. It says we couldn;t delete the partition or format. I will post screen shot at my night time for better clarity. Thanks again.

    Attaching images of the issue..

See the drive under discussion has 1 data partition and 2 internal ones.
I am unable to delete them.

On normal boot, I get this boot error.

However I am able to see the hard drive contents and copy them through recovery disc.

STOP... Do not do anything, yet....
Since you can boot into the Rescue Media, we need to gather a few things from your current system.....
And I can help you, reinstall to OS via the Rescue Media...

I assume this is a Touch Tablet with 32GB SSD, running Windows 10 Home > AM I correct ???

This process will take a little time to explain, and requires you to have some computer experience, otherwise it will take a little more effort on my part...

For now > I want you to copy the Install.wim or Install.esd from the Windows Installation Media ( sources\install.*** ) into the Rescue Media's /Sources folder...

    Which is it > Install.wim or install.esd ????
Which is Version your PC > Home or Pro ???
