    How do I remove "Smart Card" and "McAfee Password" icon from the logon

    How do I remove "Smart Card" and "McAfee Password" icon from the logon screen.

    Hi I was wondering if someone can help please?

    I've been stuck on this problem for months and can't seem to resolve it - I was wondering if anyone knows how i can remove the smart card icon (without disabling the card itself from device manager) and the mcafee password icon - please see below.

    any help is appreciated - Thank you very much

    McAfee Login is for their True Key Login manager. Usually see that only if you added it or the computer was aet up for a domain.

    The reason that it is asking for a Smart Card, is because it is expecting you to use one to log into a Domain.

    Is this a work laptop? What is the manufacturer and model information on your device?

    If its a work computer you might want to talk to your IT Pro before doing to much to it. If you screw it up and he or she has to undo what you did, they won't be very happy. They may even lock it down even more. Just ask them what those options are for and if they are needed. Then nicely ask if they can be removed.

    OK, it wasn't obvious from what you posted so had to make sure.
    Windows 10 Pro, Education, or Enterprise? I'm guessing Enterprise. Domain login?
    The McAfee one should be removable from McAfee itself, I would think?
    The Smartcard one I have no idea. I haven't run the Enterprise version and I don't see that entry for Pro or Education on my laptop. No Domain login here, which is what I think that's for. I'm just a simple Home user so you'll need input from some more knowledgeable people than me to sort it all out.

    @Jen812

    I found this. See if it will help. Does involve GPEDIT and policies. Possibly a BIOS mod, too.
