    Hey Bro67,
    thank you for your reply,
yep, its a work laptop and its a DELL Latitude 7270.
is there a way we can disable the smart card login? - i tried playing around with the registry but that caused me more problems then fix
You cannot disable Smart Card Login, since it is a work laptop and messing with the registry would report back to the IT group when your laptop connects to the domain and has those logs pulled for the Domain to keep track of any changes.

If you want to make changes on a laptop, I would suggest doing it with your own, not with the property of someone else.

I found this. See if it will help. Does involve GPEDIT and policies. Possibly a BIOS mod, too.

They still would not be able to make those changes, since the connection to the domain will put back the GPO how it is on the Domain Manager.

    Hey @bro67,

I'm am the IT admin here - we don;t use Smart cards to login, and trying to disable it.

I've managed to remove the icon from left hand side - now just want to disable smart card at logon :).

    Thanks

He is the IT guy, therefore the Domain Manager (human side). Only posted that for reference.

    Hey Guys,

Thanks for all your help but I don't think we can remove the smart card option, at the logon screen - unless the smart card is disabled.
