    Some keyboard shortcuts not working

I have a new Windows 10 desktop machine & like to use keyboard shortcuts to launch programs & folders. Some of them work & some don't. Some work some of the time.

I saw some old threads on this, & tried some of their suggestions, like disabling Services/Superfetch & some background apps. When I tried this, it worked at first. I had no delay on a shortcut that previously didn't work. However, after rebooting, the hotkey didn't work any more.

Any ideas on how I can fix this?
    Thank you in advance,

You need to make sure that you are using the Windows 10 Shortcuts.

Thank you for your reply. However, these are keyboard shortcuts that I have created. Those are the ones I care about...like creating Ctrl+Shift+i to launch a particular folder. I'm not talking about the Windows 10 shortcuts.

You needed to state that they were macro's that you created. There can be anything causing the problems such as Security Software, changing of keyboards, a Wireless keyboard setup or extended commands that can cause them not to be sent through the IRQ for the Keyboard.

You may want to try and reset those macros and set them back up to see if it could just be something blocking them or try disabling any security software. Also if you are using Classic Shell or Start10, that can cause problems.

With as many changes that are pushed for Windows 10 all of the time, there are too many factors that can be figured out over the Internet without another person with those same commands and any third party software setup to try a recreate the same problem.

Thank you again for your reply. The keyboard is not wireless & all the keys work and I have other shortcuts that do work. I deleted the shortcuts & recreated them. When I recreate them, they work for awhile. Then they stop working.

I am using Classic Shell. However, I've created some shortcuts that always work & work quickly & are in classic shell. I read some of the older threads on shortcut keys taking a long time, but there was a message on the top of the screen saying that they were old & I should start a new thread. I was hoping that a fix had been found.

All I do is locate a file in Windows Explorer, right click & drag it to a folder on my desktop. Then I create the shortcut there, go to it's Properties & create the shortcut. I don't know why it would work for awhile & then stop completely. I have Avira for virus detection, but it hasn't blocked any shortcuts.

Anyhow, if you have any other ideas...or if anyone else does, I'd appreciate it. Thank you again.
