Some settings are managed by your organization- Thoroughly confused

I have searched and read numerous threads on this issue. So far no luck for me. I have Win10 Home x64 edition on my home PC. There is no organization. Just my PC. So many posts say use GPEDIT to fix, but this not available to me in Home edition. Some say to change the privacy settings to something other than Basic. Also locked out by, "Some settings are..."

The two areas I know I am locked out by this message are the lockscreen image and those privacy settings. There may be more. I just have not seen it. I have downloaded and tried the O&O Shutup10. I did not know what I was doing. Using the recommended settings did not help.

It would seem silly reinstall windows 10 just to be able to change my lockscreen image.

Managed by your Organisation for various settings can be a side effect of using third party tweaking programs, look for something the affects the lock screen in the settings of Shutup10 or any other tweaking program you may have added.

Hi, see my notes attached which might help. And as you know there are many threads - somewhat older now- on this. Best search for e.g.
    Solved some settings

    Good luck..

Thanks for the notes. I believe I am one of those who did this to myself. Back when Win10 was first released there was a lot of hysteria surrounding the OS spying on you. I followed some steps to stop the telemetry of data to MS. That may have caused this. Either way, after working with your notes I now have access to Feedback Diagnostics ( I was locked out before). I am still get the message for the lockscreen. I tried changing the different levels of diagnostics and usage data, but it did not change.

I saw a post somewhere about an "in place" reinstalling of Win10. Is this an option?

You can do an in-place upgrade repair install (basically start Win 10 installation from normal mode), but whether that will solve this problem or respect your current settings I can't say.

(There is a tutorial in the Tutorial section).

You can check no settings remain according to both O&O shutup and Spybot Antibeacon if you've not tried both.

"You can check no settings remain ..."

O&O seemed to show more detail on each of the settings, but I am not sure what I am looking for. I see no setting related to the lockscreen background graphic.

I will look in to your tutorial. Thanks for your help.

These should give you a specific solution:
    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...b4386ff?auth=1

"Some settings are managed by your organization"

    (I searched for
lock screen some settings are managed by your organization
    )

All you can do usefully at this stage with those tools is use the reset option (or similar) to set settings to default. There won't necessarily be anything to do with the lock screen, nor will those tools alone necessarily provide a solution.

    SOLVED

    I read this
    "Open Registry Editor: Regedit
Went to HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Personalization then on the right side I deleted the Value: NoLockScreen then Restarted the computer." Issue Resolved.

I was skeptical about even trying it as it referred to "NoLockScreen". I want the lock screen. I just wanted to select my own photo, but the whole, "Some settings are managed..." was stopping me. Hah! I would try it anyway and it worked!

Thank you for your help, Dalchina!

I can. I have made a few registry changes to restrict telemetry so my 'Feedback and diagnostics' shows '...managed by your organisation'. A repair install did not change this.
