Strange happenings when right click to drag on Windows 10

I've recently set up a new rig.... So I'm still getting all the little annoyances squashed. I have two that continue to plague me..

    1. When I select, right click/drag most of the time I get a right click menu rather than the ability to drag the item. Not sure how to fix that one.

    2. I run a dual monitor set up for my graphics work. If I have iTunes up and playing music when I go to lower or up the volume I get a monitor identify overlay while I'm messing with the volume. Is there a way to turn that off?

    Thanks much

    Richard :)

Hi, the first sounds more like a mouse problem. Do you have a wired mouse you can try? There were problems with some wireless mice in the early days of '10.

No, mouse is OK. I think it's a system setting for the volume thing. I use a Logitech Marble Mouse and the drivers for it are up to date.

You do not right click and drag unless you have the mouse set for Left Handed use.

It is not a driver issue. The Marble mouse is rather outdated at this time. I ended up going with the Logitech MX Master when my Marble Mouse started to go out. Also the MX Master gives you more options for two different rollers that you can use.

I thought right click n drag was an alternative for Ctrl click n drag.

It only works with the Touchpads, never worked with the external mice unless you define it through extra settings.

When dragging with right mouse button I always get separate menu with options to move, copy etc.

    No special designated buttons here.

Right, so if I wanted to right/select/drag to another folder or have the right menu pop up and have the copy or move option there that's what I use that for. Instead when I do that I have no way to drag and get the full right click menu instead. Strangely I get this on just the left screen of the monitor but if I'm right/select/drag in the middle or right side of the monitor I get what I expect, not the full right click menu. I can also add that after a few tries the system "gets" that I want to right/select/drag and allows it. It's very strange behavior.
