You could install without license but it wouldn't activate.

If you had 10, which you did, your machine was "fingerprinted". MS servers will interrogate your machine when you go online and assuming no major changes it will activate. If there are major changes you handle through a different process.

    Ahhh!

I'm trying to create the bootable USB for 32 bit (as I think it was 32 bit), and it's failed twice now on error 0x1800130 - 0x90002 with "There was a problem running this too"? Any ideas please?

Thanks again for your kind help and my patience!

If you use the media creator tool I recommend doing it on a Win 10 machine.

I learned last week it should likely be an 8GB key. It was suggested we are getting more versions.

Let the tool do everything for you, please.

    Thanks!
    - Just using Windows 10,
    - The flash drive is 8GB size,
    - Should I be using 64 bit rather than 32 bit (but the PC was built to 32 bit) as I think that this is the default settings for Windows Media Creator?

    Thanks!

The Windows Media Creation Tool will download and create the appropriate version for you. From the tutorial here on Tenforums:

Create Bootable USB Flash Drive to Install Windows 10 - Windows 10 Installation Upgrade Tutorials

    Note
Leaving the Use the recommended options for this PC box checked will have the Media Creation Tool create a USB flash drive that's the same language, edition, and architecture as the current PC.

    Sorry, me again!

I have a flash drive but I can't see how to start off the Windows 10 reinstall process????

I would expected you put the flash drive and the process is started - but there is no options.

As suggested I have pressed Alt & f10 and I get some options: System Restore, System Image Restore, Start Up Repair, Command Prompt, UEFI Firmware Setting or Start-Up Setting? Any ideas to start getting the flash drive selected to start the process?

    Thanks!
