Fast boot, is it a good thing or bad ?

I left it on even on SSD, I like the fast boot but when I insert my other SSD which have Linux installed on it I turn it off.

Okay, probably like most people today in 2017, I'm using an SSD, I'm on my 3rd or 4th SSD drive at this point even my mom has an SSD in her computer now. What is the point of Fast Boot? I notice with it on me (and other people) get phantom touches on the screeen and perhaps other problems, but with it off, there is no noticable change in boot time.. Yes, on an SSD with fast boot off from power off the computer still boots up in maybe 2 seconds. What kind of short sighted person foreseeing an ancient world run off rotary hard drives would try to speed up booting off those drives when we no longer really use them anymore. With modern drives, we don't need fast boot, it just causes problems.

My 2cents: Yep, I'm one of those 80%'er's that still use a HDD. That said, mine is left on from default install and has never given me any issues. Although I may just turn it off and see what happens. Could be an interesting experiment.

I appreciate your ability to be forgiving, but please understand i haven't worked in 15+ years and am basically on welfare and buy my SSDs with my welfare check money (SSDI, not related to SSD). I suppose i am just out of touch with the fact that outside of my world people are still using older technologies.

By the way, I am probably high functioning autism, diagnosed once in 2010 and not treated, and i took a test online yesterday which matched, so that may affect the way i behave. I ask that you factor in disabilities when you consider how you treat your users, don't discriminate based on them.

You are being extremely harsh about HDD users.

I bet well over 80% of pcs in existence still boot off hdds. It is only in the affluent countries that people can afford SSDs.
