By default, it'll be the Cortana icon that will show on the taskbar instead of the Search icon unless you have disabled Cortana.

Interesting. What do you currently see on the taskbar with a screenshot?

Bottom left there are Start. Task View. File explorer.Store.Edge.Thunderbird email.

Do you have Show Cortana icon checked in its settings?

Cortana id off.

Disabled Cortana?

If so, do have a "Show Search icon" option instead?

The only way I can get a search is by right click on start and search is there but no icon/glass to be seen.

What do you have in its settings like in Option 1 below?
