Make Taskbar Display On Only One Monitor in Dual Monitor Setup  

I have dual monitors. The Taskbar appears on both monitors (top, bottom, right or left, as specified).
Is there a way to have the Taskbar appear only on one monitor?

Thanks! Before doing as suggested, I fiddled around a bit, and here's what I came up with:

Settings > Personalization > Taskbar:
►Taskbar location Right
►Multiple Displays/Show taskbar on all displays: Off

Control Panel > Display > Change Display Settings:
► #2 monitor on left, #1 on right
► #1 is red, and I checked "Make this my main display" > Apply

Even though Windows calls the right monitor #1, it is in fact my secondary monitor.
Now the Taskbar is only on the right monitor's right side, in always visible mode . . which is just what I wanted
It's now necessary to reverse all the icons on both monitors, but that's easily done

Here's why I'm trying out this setup: there's only one thing I like about the Taskbar, which is that by clicking a program's icon it can be maximized or minimized. When there are multiple open windows, ALT-TAB quick switch's multiple Preview images are a) somewhat confusing, which means that b) I frequently inadvertently choose the wrong one

I found this useful so now I only have the taskbar on my main monitor. But I cannot find how to make the two desktops different (and stable!) on my two monitors.
I have a two monitor setup using the Settings/Display options menus. My main one is fed from the HDMI output of my graphics card, and the secondary one from the VGA output.
(Incidentally, I use Mouse Without Borders so I can share my wireless mouse/keyboard setup with a Win 7 PC - to see that one, I use the HDMI/VGA button selection on the main monitor - As the "spare PC" has a KVM switch on it, I can also use the HID devices on a third PC using Win 98 - but thats another story!)

But try as I might, I cannot find any solution to the desktops problem, as follows:

The two monitors have different sets of icons on each, AND, I cannot get them to stay put
Even if I carefully arrange them in the positions I want, even the ones that are common to the two desktops revert to the different setups for each! Not only that, but trying to add icons to the other one results in chaos. When I restart, bang, they have scittered around again.

One possible clue? I think I notice that the icons on my secondary monitor seem to be only the ones that I applied when I first started using Win 10 when I was using the previous version.

Perhaps I should put this on another thread, but couldn't find anyone more suitable.

PS Where are the desktop configurations saved? And how does the graphic card know which one belongs to which output?
