How to Clean Up c:\windows\installer Folder?

I've just installed Kaspersky Total Security 2017 and enabled Trusted Applications Mode. This asked me to review various files in the c:\windows\installer folders. I noticed there is quite a lot of 'garbage' in this folder including programs I no longer have installed. Is there a reliable way of cleaning up the c:\windows\installer folders without causing problems? I've seen PatchCleaner mentioned on the forum. Is that a good solution?

Yes, PatchCleaner is what I have used. Both at work and at home. Has never let me down.

I just download and tried PatchCleaner. Found >4gb of Office Updates dating back to initial device set up. Many of these were related to features, like Groove or Outlook that I did not install but, unlike prev versions, did not have the option of installing or not. Would be great too, if these were Office patches were done on cum update basis like Windows Updates and either remove older files or give you option to opt out for features you don't have.
