Why do you want to delete it for? It looks like it is for EFS.

I don't want to be hammered for this but, read up on Attrib -r.

It's a dos level attribute changer, exact command for your situation would require my access to Windows.

That won't happen for @ least 3 days, on vacay and bored with iPhone.

I'm familiar with the attrib command but it does not help in this situation. The certificates are not accessible, as far as I can tell, via DOS. It's been locked by the OS and I need to unlock it. I've a sneaky suspicion they may be held in the TPM or registry.

I know it may be quite a technical question outside of the scope of this forum (and more suited to TechNet) but I'd be interested in hearing if anybody else has suffered from this problem?

I've only deleted, when logged in with CAC smart card.

You should in theory be allowed to lose it, if logged in as administrator.

Answer is not only technet, also superuser[emoji41]

Because it's a personal computer I'm not using a CAC. But the way CACs work is by authorising you against the central domain, which is effectively what I'm doing anyway (because I'm not on a domain-managed system).

I've elevated to Admin but the certificate disappears: this is an intended behaviour. It's clearing the 'R' attribute that I need help with.

I may try SuperUser unless anybody has any suggestions?
