    Windows 10 Versions

I have windows 10x64 ver 1511 build 10586 running on my pc and wonder if I should upgrade to the latest version 1607 Anniversary Update. Is there much difference in the 2 or should I stay with what I have now. Any info appreciated...

There is quite a difference as many features were introduced with the Anniversary update.

In saying this, more features will probably be coming out and will require the Anniversary update to be installed.

So if you want to stay on top of all the features that are being introduced, you really should get the Anniversary update.

You certainly have a high end computer. Should be no problem to install in-place upgrade. Fastest, easiest way, no need to create boot media, either. Use this tutorial, skipping down to Step 4 -
Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade
Download ISO to your desktop, r-click 'Mount' and run setup.exe from the image that opens. Another major upgrade due in April too, you might as well have the intermediate version in place. Good Luck

and I would recommend that you check out and execute Macrium Reflect to get a disk image. Should something go wrong, not saying it will, you have a reliable route back.

Just my opinion a clean install of 1607 as I did, would be better than upgrade. :)

Yep, I agree. If you can do it would result in better performance. Personally windows upgrades are definitely not my first method of doing a important upgrade.
