    Hi,

    Please try the following :
    1 Open File Explorer
    2 Click and hold CTRL Key while you adjust File Explorer to your liking (size, position)
    3 When done with the Manual adjusting, head to File then xClose and release CTRL
    4 Relaunch File Explorer to verify it is keeping your setup.
    5 Optional Reboot to make sure your changes are sticky

    I have tested over and over to make sure it does work on my Windows 10 x64.
    Please avoid the SNAP feature while performing this, do every step manually.

    Hope it helps.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the advice, though sadly it doesn't work for me either.

    Not Solved, But......

    ...... here's a workaround:
    Go to your desktop and right click an empty spot, choose 'New' then 'Shortcut';
    Copy and paste the following into the dialog:
    explorer shell:MyComputerFolder

    then click Next, name it 'My Computer' or whatever you wish and click 'Finish'
    right click on the new Shortcut and choose 'Properties, then 'Change Icon...',
    in the dialog that appears, replace C:\Windows\explorer.exe under 'Look for icons in this file:' with imageres.dll and press Enter;
    scroll over until you see this or an appropriate icon:

    highlight it to choose then click OK, then Apply and OK on the previous window.
    Now drag that shortcut down and pin it to the taskbar. You can delete the desktop version if you wish.

    The first time you invoke Explorer from that shortcut and close then re-open it, it will have moved down and to the right about 1/2 inch but, it will only do that once.
    The windows will open in File Explorer itself, but, launch it always from the new shortcut.

    I don't know what you think you're seeing in that video, but it demonstrates the problem. Your window crawls all over the screen every time you open it. I don't see how you can sit there and say you solved the problem when your own video shows it!

    The problem is not the size of the window, that gets remembered. The *POSITION* of the window moves every time you open it.
    Used Option 1 here: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials...ndows-8-a.html
    and that worked fine for me...

    I tried that here and it did NOT fix the problem. If my taskbar is at the bottom of the screen, each time I close and reopen File Explorer it is a bit further down and to the right of where it was before.

    That is not surprising really. The tutorial you linked to only claims to reset Explorer's folder views. It does that, but it doesn't fix the problem this thread is about.

    A simple workaround... Get into the habit of minimizing File Explorer instead of closing it.

    I have been doing this. also: if you leave the File Explorer open/minimized when shutting down your system the computer will restart with the File Explorer open and it will be in the same position it was before shutting down.

    Yes, you are right, it only fixes the problem per session, if pc is restarted, the issue comes back, in my case, only and if only, I maximize & restore File Explorer window, if I keep it always NOT maximized, it always open at the center of the screen, maybe it's something similar to this, which affected W 8.1, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...?wa=wsignin1.0

    For the other guy that was having problems with this intended behavior... check out this link. I never had problems in previous versions of windows, but apparently other people have experienced this intended behavior. This was made for win7 but I just tried it out and it seems to be working. Hope it helps you out. ShellFolderFix - Manage folder window positions/size - Windows 7 Help Forums

    I've done this countless times. Needless to say -but I'll say it anyway- : this doesn't work for me.

    I have the solution!
    Run your windows maximized! After all, isn't that half the reason you bought a 32" monitor!?
