Windows positioning in the Windows OS is a real PITA for all experienced users. Shell folders can't restore their state/position since Vista, at the same time many other nice applications are also missing this "preserve window position"-feature.
Why should I use my mouse to reposition a shell folder to the same position where it was just a minute ago before I closed it? This is rediculuos.
At some point I found it took me too much time to make exactly the same actions mentioned in this thread and I decided to develop an utility which was later called TaskLayout. A few words about this utility: TaskLayout is an application launcher with windows adjustment functionality which allow you to launch and adjust numerous applications/windows with a single click/hotkey. This tool is extremely useful whenever you need to open favorite shell folders at their places.
I hope you'll try it and decide you own whether it can help you under this topic. Thanks!

Well... sure maybe it could help in some way. But you forgot to mention that your software is not freeware, it costs 50$.

This seems the official page, if someone want to try its features:

You are right, but strictly speaking this tool is a liteware. You are free to use it in unregistered mode with just a few limitations.

Confirmed. Windows closed with Exit (upper left) or the red X (upper right) retain their last positions in build 10565.

    Guys thanks for the info.

    1. Do you know where to download the ISO that reffers to that build?.

    2. It is only in English language?. I need it in Spanish.

    Thanks again.

It is an insider build and there is no .iso. The fix will be in today's cumulative update for mainstreamers or in the Threshhold 2 release in November.

There is an ISO that could be found in direct download by Googling or else via Torrent search engines.

I don't know if it is a leaked or legitimate ISO, but I installed it in a VM and I verified the build number.

I also verified that this build yes really it fixes the cascade effect problem!.

    Thanks for all.

    Rule 4:

Posting a non MS site for an ISO is a rule violation.
Piracy?, who said downloading a leaked or legitimate Windows ISO its now piracy?. Piracy is when the consumer uses an activator/crack to bypass the law, to avoid the legality limitations of the product.

I just linked the query of a torrent search engine!, anyways I removed the link as you demanded it, no problem and excuse me.
