Yes backed up in triplicate. How do you mean proceed with fix? How do I 'Fix' it?

If you boot from media, from command prompt(admin) enter chkdsk c: /r
If from within Windows, open command prompt and you can leave out the c:
It is implied. You will have to restart to allow access to disk.

chkdsk stops before it finishes running as do Seagate and western digital disk checking tools. Looking like a new hard drive?

Check your warranty on the defective one. Some are very good. I labelled my drive with sharpie when I install. Easy to find bill and determine age.
