Why is Windows 10 a must have OS?
-
how do people use XP with Internet access now? Does Avast+Windows Firewall keep them relativity secure?
There is a unofficial service pack 4 for windows xp
Time will come that it will be only either Windows 10 or Linux. So, if you have a collection of software that only works on Windows, then 10 is a must have (whether you like it or "else"
).

Windows 7 is not modern? Since when?

Honestly, stay with Win7. Windows 10 is way to buggy.
I've already reinstalled 7, and until the bugs are worked out of 10(and there are a LOT), I will not be using the free upgrade.

Since they introduced touch in 7.
Posted from my Lumia 1520. :)
Yeahhhhhhhh, I remember that! I was on a beta for something or other, and we had about three HP touch machines that we were passing around between us. It never got to me, though. The things kept breaking down and the beta ended before everyone got a whack at one of the machines, errr, ummm, that is, devices. :)

If you are a Gamer Win 10 is fantastic,
No, not at all.

It has no MY Computer icon,
Yes it does.

DirectX 12 is great, assuming your current hardware supports it?
Did anybody notice that Realtek audio drivers are Dx12 compatible ?

Windows 10 is NOT a must have OS. It's a must avoid OS. Incompatibility with DX9 games( which is a deal breaker for me). It has no MY Computer icon, and constantly locks my computer up where I have to pull the power cord to be able to reboot it. No wonder they are giving free copies away.
My Computer is called This PC and could be placed on desktop easily. Compatibility with Dx9 is an issue MS should solve soon if they want more people to switch. I guess that there are no real gamers on MS staff or want to push their new games.

In a year or so, it might be difficult to buy a new computer or device without W10, so for many will be a "Must" windows to have. As great W7 was (XP never was really great, just a good replacement for 95/98), it is too "legacy" to be able to support newest HW and SW without much rewriting of code that usually produces more problems than it solves.

another great thing about 10
all you devices with win 10 will stay in sync, Cortana data between all 10 devices etc, I know syncing was there in previous versions, but 10 seems to have it a lot more integrated
might not be relevant to most, but I think some of us use multiple devices with win 10 (desktop, phones, tablets)

Yes,that syncing will be a great boon to people with multiple devices, I'm waiting for W10 to stabilize and will switch to Windows phone and get a half decent tablet with 4G to go with it.
