Won't wakeup from sleep or hibernation
Tried hard reset. Still getting single blinking light after several tries. What else can I try? How do I know if the battery is charging? Thanks

W10debbie,
Welcome to Ten Forums!
Will you provide some additional detail?
Is this a Desktop, laptop, or tablet?
Brand/ Model?
Thanks cottonball. It is an Acer E1-572-6870 laptop. I can't see the thumbs up icon from my phone but will glad to send kudos when the laptop is back in shape
Is the laptop connected to an AC Adapter and to the wall electrical outlet?
Is there an icon by the light that is blinking? If so, what does the icon look like?
Yes it is connected to the AC adapter and to the wall outlet.
W10debbie,
If the light on the bottom left of the laptop is on, that is the power indicator. It shows the power status. So, if you are using the power adapter, and it is plugged into the outlet on the wall, the power status light should be on.
Is nothing happening when you press the Power button?
Do you get nothing on the screen no matter what you do?
If you press down F2 and while doing so, press the Power button. Can you get to the BIOS?
Do you have the installation media for Windows 10?
I get 5 blinks when pressing the power button with the adapter and battery in. Without the battery nothing.
Power + F2 gets 5 blinks.
Mobile tech in another state reinstalled Windows 10 did not provide install media and I did request it.
W10debbie,
Unplug the power adapter, and remove the battery for about 20 minutes.
Then connect the battery, and, plug in the power adapter.
Now, try to start your laptop.
