If the above does not work, let's try a final power drain procedure:

    1. Remove the RAM sticks (Clean with a soft lint free cloth while they are out)
    2. Remove the power adapter from the wall and the laptop.
    3. Remove the battery
    4. Hold the power button for 58 seconds
    5. Replace items 1, 2, and 3 (RAM, power adapter, battery)

How do you remove the RAM sticks? I'm at a cafe with a small screwdriver set and a lintfree cloth.

On the underside, remove the battery.

On the side opposite the battery, there is a big lid held by one screw.
Remove the screw, and you will see the RAM sticks (maybe just one) on the right side.

To remove the RAM, take your thumbs to the right and left edges, and push outward gently to disengage the RAM. It will pull out. Clean the RAM gently, and set it aside.

After doing the power down procedure, insert the RAM back in the slot where it was. The gold teeth go in the slot first, and there is a division in the teeth that allows you to set it the right way. Press it down gently, and it will snap in.
    Replace and screw the flap.

Maybe someone will stop by with other ideas.

Sorry, but no longer have a clue...it could be any kind of problem, the graphic card is toast, etc....

You can check out the Acer forums and post the issue there, or you can take the laptop to a shop where they can diagnose and repair it.
