The thought is you/we will be able to download or create an ISO from the ESD that's used for the upgrade process.

Actually, not everyone is upgrading to windows 10 Jeff. So, Microsoft still has to support windows 7 & 8.1 for few more years. I will still be triple booting with 7, 10, Xubuntu and thanks to kind hearted person, otherwise I would of gone back to Windows 7 & Xubuntu.

If Microsoft did something like that with windows 10 Microsoft would get in trouble with some of are laws in the U.S. We have what is called bait & switch law. Each state also has contract laws.

I never said Microsoft violated the laws. You will need to look that law up yourself because I don't want to get sued for slander or for misunderstanding. I know Microsoft would never intentionally break a law.
